Latest Update: Facebook users can now claim settlement money

Facebook users in the United States who used the platform between May 24, 2007, and December 22, 2022, are eligible to receive a share of a $725 million settlement related to privacy violations. The settlement stems from multiple lawsuits that were filed against Facebook by users who claimed that the company improperly shared their information with third-party sources. 

To claim a share of the settlement, users must file an online monetary claim by Friday, August 25, 2023, at 11:59 pm PT. People who send in a claim via US mail must have their letter postmarked by August 25. The amount of money each user receives will vary depending on how many claims are filed and the total amount of money available in the settlement.
